Moominland park

A wintertime event “Winter Wonderland in Moominvalley Park” is based on Tove Jansson’s novel “Moominland Midwinter” where Moomintroll wakes up from hibernation and faces winter for the first time all by himself. The Moominland is located in Naantali, a small city around 14 km away from Turku. Park is on a separate island and covers all its territory. The city is a big tourist center and has some things to see besides the Moominland. Naantali is located on many islands and is a part of Turku archipelago ring bicycle route. Moominland has dedicated parking, where you leave your car and then take a bus to the town centre.

Moominland was on my wishlist ever since I started visiting Finland, at that time dating my now husband. He has lived here most of his life but never visited. I know, shocking.
